Past Success Projects

Bulgaria

iConnect International helped launch New Generation, the very first Christian kindergarten in the country. Conceived as a vision project by a local educator Julia, it started helping children from broken families, Roma children and some of the poorest children in Sofia. Soon after the launch, the New Generation was adding a new class every year, moved to several different locations due to capacity needs, and finally became a fully recognized specialized high school under a new name of Quest Academy. Children who graduated from Quest Academy have received national awards and Julia was honored by receiving a prestigious national award in the area of education.

Czech Republic

With the political changes in Europe in 1989, the post-communist countries started enjoying many new freedoms, including the freedom of religion. In the Czech Republic, public schools opened up to Christian education and to Christian values and influence. Local organization with several Christian workers in public schools around the country embraced the opportunity to offer a special edition of a New Testament to students and iConnect International was able to publish 10,000 of NTs for distribution in a number of public high schools. Great success and impact.

Egypt

At least 16.7 million children live in poverty in Egypt, a total of 9.2 million living in extreme poverty. In Cairo, there are about 600,000 street kids and many are living in the slums, about 300,000 of them in the city of over 20 million. Inhabitants of these areas suffer from lack of basic services, they have no electricity, water pipes or sewage system. Living on the streets has significant, life-long consequences for the children’s physical and mental health.
For several years, iConnect International reached out out to impoverished children and families living in the slums of Cairo, bringing them Aid, offering Hope and sharing the Gospel, as well as helping with their education through the “Back to School” program. We have also purchased much needed equipment for the New Life Language School in Cairo.

Until recently, iConnect International provided support for 30 of the poorest families in an impoverished district of Cairo, including food and clothing.

Slovakia

Renovation of the Christian Conference and Retreat Center in the High Tatra mountains. The Center was built by Christians right after WWII and confiscated by the communist government in 1948. It fell into disrepair as it was not properly maintained while being used for the communist youth retreats. As part of the post-communist restitution program in 1994, the building was returned to the Slovak Christians. Slow process of an expensive reconstruction was started soon after.

Christian activities have been reinstated and keep growing every year. The reconstruction has been completed and the Center has become self-sustainable through increased capacity and quality service.

The current activities and services of the Center are available to the public. The Center is aspiring to reach into local communities and community groups, including schools and English learning youth. The Center has already served as a place for marriage counseling, restoration seminars and conferences.
